In late 1989, I begin spending a lot of time in the east cape of Baja, Mexico. I had sold my property in Hawaii and decided to take some time off and do so some soul searching.  After living
all my life in San Diego, I really wanted to make a lot of changes. I was recently divorced and decided to make the east cape of Baja my home for a while as I tried to figure out where I was going next.  

I met Mark in the next few months and we began dating at the beginning of summer.  We decided we wanted to spend our lives together and began making plans to go back to the United States and work about 15 years, then eventually come back to Baja. When I met him, he had just gotten out of the Air Force and was visiting his parents in Baja who happened to be my neighbors.He had decided to take some time off and was also giving thought to what he wanted to do with his life.  We discussed a move to Utah, but ended up in Central Oregon where he grew up. We were married in April 1992 and have been working toward our retirement ever since.  

We still go to Baja to visit our good friends and the few pieces of property we own. Next year, I plan to rebuild one of our homes there, so we can be there when we want and perhaps turn it into a vacation rental during the fishing and wind surfing seasons. Once we spend more time down there, we will probably decide to start building on our other beach lot near
the lighthouse.

I’m in the process of cutting back my time in my salon and Mark is planning a career change at this point in his life.  He is a little younger than I am. Mark plans to work a little bit longer, but for himself to allow him the flexibility in his work schedule.

We now enjoy our family of wolves and whatever travel we get to do.  We especially like to go camping in the backcountry with our wolves. Mark and I try to get down to Sunriver to enjoy ourselves as often as we can in between our busy schedules.
